How to Create Campaign Emails Using the Visual Email Builder

The MailerLogic Visual Email Builder lets you create professional campaign emails without writing HTML. Use drag-and-drop content blocks, templates, images, buttons, social links, dynamic content, and personalization variables to design your email.

Follow the steps below to create, configure, test, and send a campaign email using the Visual Email Builder.

Step 1: Create a New Campaign

Go to 'Marketing' → 'Campaigns' and click '+ Create Campaign'.

Step 2: Select the Drag-and-Drop Builder

Select the 'Drag-and-drop builder' to create your email using the Visual Editor.

  • Drag-and-drop builder: Design emails visually using blocks, images, layouts, and other content elements.
  • Block HTML editor: Edit the email using raw HTML.

Step 3: Name Your Email

Enter a name for your campaign email and click 'Create Email'.

Step 4: Open the Visual Editor

In the 'Content' step, click 'Edit in visual editor'.

The Visual Editor provides three main areas:

  • Blocks: Add content elements to your email.
  • Templates: Start with a pre-designed email template.
  • Tools: Access content scoring, risk assessment, and deliverability testing.

Step 6: Choose a Template or Start From Scratch

Under 'Templates', you can select a pre-designed template or start with a blank email. Click 'Preview & use' to add the template to your email.

Step 7: Add Content Blocks

Use the 'Blocks' panel to drag and drop elements onto your email. Arrange and customize the blocks to create your email layout.

Step 8: Add a Call-to-Action

Use the + icon to add a 'Button' for your call-to-action link.

You can customize the button and text colors and continue adding and arranging sections to build your email layout.

Step 9: Check Content and Deliverability

Use the 'Tools' section to check:

  • Content Score
  • Risk Assessment
  • Test Deliverability

Review the results and make any necessary changes before continuing.

Step 10: Save Your Email

'Preview' your email and make any necessary changes, then click 'Save & Exit'.

Step 11: Configure Email Settings

Open the 'Settings' section, enter a 'Subject Line' and optional 'Preview Text'.

Choose a recognizable 'From Name', configure your branded 'From Address' (for example, noreply@yourdomain.com)and optionally set a 'Reply-To Address'.

Add your 'Company Name' to enable the {{companyName}} merge tag in your email body.

Step 12: Add Compliance and Personalization Settings

Enter your company's official 'Postal address'. You can also enable 'Personalize the ‘Send To’ field,' so recipients see their name in the inbox. Add 'Tags' to organize and track your campaign performance, then click 'Save'.

Your email should also include the following:

  • {{unsubscribe}}
  • {{postalAddress}}

You can insert these using the 'Insert' menu.

Enter your email address and click 'Send Test' to verify formatting, links, and personalization.

Step 15: Select Recipients

Open the 'Recipients' section. Select an existing 'Segment' from the dropdown list.

Step 16: Apply Filters

If needed, select 'Filter by tags & properties' to create additional targeting rules.

For example:

Status is equal to Subscribed

You can add multiple rules and combine them using 'AND/OR' logic.

You can also enable the option to stop sending to 'Unengaged contacts'.

Step 17: Sync Recipients

Click 'Sync Recipients' to sync and finalize the recipient list.

Step 18: Schedule or Send the Campaign

Open the 'Schedule' section. Choose 'Send Now' or 'Schedule for Later'.

If scheduling the campaign, select the date, time, and correct time zone, then click 'Schedule Campaign'.

Step 19: Review Campaign Performance

After sending, you will be redirected to the campaign summary page.

Here, you can view:

  • Campaign details such as name, ID, subject, sender, and reply-to address
  • Duplicate Campaign and Export Report options
  • Performance tabs including Overview, Deliverability, Opens, Clicks, Links, Unsubscribes, and Bounces

The Overview section displays metrics such as Sent, Delivered, Opens, Clicks, Unsubscribes, and Bounces.

MailerLogic filters metrics by human activity to exclude bot and scanner activity from reporting.

Final Checklist Before Sending

Before scheduling or sending your campaign, make sure:

  • Your subject line is clear and relevant.
  • Your email includes {{unsubscribe}} and {{postalAddress}}.
  • You have tested the email.
  • Your recipient filters are correct.
  • Your time zone is correct.

With MailerLogic's Visual Email Builder, you can create campaign emails using templates, drag-and-drop blocks, personalization, and built-in content and deliverability checks. Configure your sending details, select your recipients, review the campaign, and send it immediately or schedule it for later.
