Connect MailerLogic MCP to Other AI Tools

MailerLogic MCP lets compatible AI tools securely access approved MailerLogic actions after you connect and authorize your account. Once connected, your AI assistant can help you manage contacts, search templates, view analytics, send test emails, and perform other supported tasks without leaving your workflow.

This guide uses Cursor as an example, but the same process is similar for other MCP-compatible AI tools.

What you can do with MailerLogic MCP

With MailerLogic MCP, your AI assistant can:

• Search and find contacts

• Create or update contacts

• Add tags to contacts

• Suppress or unsubscribe email addresses

• List email templates

• Send a single transactional or test email

• View events and analytics

For security, MailerLogic MCP cannot send campaigns to your entire audience, modify billing settings, delete your account, or perform destructive bulk actions.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

• A MailerLogic plan that includes MCP

• Access to Integrations → Apps in MailerLogic

• An AI tool that supports remote MCP servers (this guide uses Cursor as an example)

• Your MailerLogic MCP Server URL and MCP token

Step 1: Get Your MailerLogic MCP Server URL and Token

Go to 'Integrations' → 'Apps'. Open the 'MailerLogic MCP' app and copy the 'MCP Server URL'.

Generate or rotate your MCP token.

Step 2: Open the MCP Settings in Your AI Tool

In Cursor, open 'Settings' and select 'Tools & MCPs'. Under 'Cloud', click 'Add MCP'.

Step 3: Choose Custom MCP

In the Browse MCPs window, select 'Custom MCP' (top left, "Add your own MCP server").

Step 4: Fill in MailerLogic's details

In the Edit MailerLogic form, enter the 'Name', 'Server URL', and 'Headers' from MailerLogic. Finally, click 'Save Changes'.

Step 5: Confirm it's connected

Back on the Tools page, you should see 'MailerLogic' listed under 'User MCP Servers' with a 'Connected' status, and the toggle switched on.

Cursor can now use MailerLogic through MCP.

Step 6: Test the Connection

Try one of the following prompts:

• "Find contacts tagged newsletter."

• "Create a contact named Kate with email kate@example.com."

• "Add the tag prospect to kate@example.com."

• "List my available email templates."

• "Show my MailerLogic analytics for the last 30 days."

• "Suppress test@example.com from future emails."

If the setup is successful, your AI assistant will retrieve or update data from your MailerLogic account after you approve the request.

Manage or Disconnect the Connection In MailerLogic

Go to 'Integrations' → 'Apps' → 'MailerLogic MCP'.

From there, you can:

• Copy the MCP Server URL

• Rotate your MCP token

• Revoke access to disconnect AI tools

In Your AI Tool

Remove or disable the MailerLogic MCP server from your AI tool's MCP or plugin settings.

Troubleshooting

The AI tool cannot connect to MailerLogic

Verify that you're using the correct MCP Server URL:

https://mcp.mailerlogic.com/mcp

Authentication fails

Generate a new MCP token in MailerLogic, update your MCP configuration, save the changes, and reconnect.

The AI tool cannot discover MailerLogic tools

Confirm that your AI tool supports remote MCP servers. Some tools support only local MCP servers.

The AI assistant says you're unauthorized

Your MCP token may have expired, been revoked, or been entered incorrectly. Generate a new token and update your configuration.

Some MailerLogic tools aren't available

Your MailerLogic subscription or token permissions may limit which tools your AI assistant can access.

Security Best Practices

• Connect MailerLogic only to AI tools you trust.

• Review every tool permission request before approving it.

• Store your MCP token securely.

• Rotate your MCP token regularly.

• Revoke access when you no longer use an AI tool.

• Never share your MCP token in chats, documents, screenshots, or public repositories.
