Export Data and Delete Your MailerLogic Account
This article explains how to export the data you want to keep before deleting your MailerLogic account, what happens when you delete your account, and what you should do before confirming the deletion.
Before You Delete Your Account
Before closing your account, export any data you may need in the future. Some data can be exported directly from MailerLogic, while other data requires assistance from Support.
| Data | How to save it |
|---|---|
| Contacts | Go to Contacts, apply any required filters, and click Export. The CSV includes email, first name, last name, status, tags, and created date. |
| Campaign reports | Open the campaign's Report page and save the report using your browser's Print to PDF option or copy the figures into your records. |
| Bounces, unsubscribes, and suppressions | Contact MailerLogic Support to request exports of these lists. |
| Form submissions | Open the required form, go to Submissions, apply a date range if needed, and click Export to CSV. |
| Automations | Automation definitions cannot currently be exported as a portable file. Document the triggers, steps, delays, and other settings you may need to recreate. |
If you need contact custom properties or activity history, contact Support to request an extended export.
If you are moving to another email service provider, make sure you have received and securely saved the bounce, unsubscribe, and suppression exports before deleting your account.
For more information, see Deleting & Exporting Contacts.
Prepare Your Account for Closure
If you are moving to another email service provider, configure the new provider before deleting your MailerLogic account. Add and verify the new provider's SPF and DKIM records on your sending domain before closing your MailerLogic account.
You should also cancel your active subscription and resolve any pending invoices. Go to Billing, open the billing portal, and cancel your subscription. Cancelling your subscription is different from deleting your account. Cancellation stops future billing while keeping your account and data according to the applicable Free plan limits and retention rules.
Before deletion, remove or replace any SMTP credentials and API keys used by external applications. You should also disconnect integrations under Integrations → Apps and update any external systems that depend on MailerLogic.
Delete Your MailerLogic Account
Once you have completed your exports and preparations, you can permanently delete your account.
Step 1: Open Account Security
Go to 'Profile' and click 'Security'.
Step 2: Start Account Deletion
Scroll to the 'Delete Account' section and click 'Delete My Account'.
Step 3: Confirm Deletion
Enter DELETE in the confirmation field. Click 'Confirm Delete'.
Your account is closed immediately.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account?
Deleting your account removes your MailerLogic account data and access, including:
- Contacts
- Segments
- Tags
- Custom properties
- Campaigns
- Automations
- Forms
- Sending domains
- Tracking domains
- Custom SMTP hostnames
- SMTP credentials
- API keys
- Integrations
- Webhooks
- Campaign reports
- Analytics
- Engagement history
- Billing subscription information
Your MailerLogic sending infrastructure also stops working.
If you are migrating to another provider, make sure the new provider's DNS records are configured and verified before removing your MailerLogic configuration.
If you are no longer using MailerLogic, review the SPF, DKIM, and CNAME records associated with MailerLogic on your sending domain. Remove or replace records that are no longer required after your migration is complete.
Canceling vs. Deleting Your Account
You do not need to delete your account simply because you want to stop paying for a paid plan.
Cancel your subscription if you are taking a break and may return later. Your account remains available according to the applicable Free plan limits and retention rules.
Delete your account if you are permanently leaving MailerLogic and no longer need the account or its data.
See Billing for more information about cancelling or downgrading your subscription.
GDPR and Data-Subject Requests
Deleting your MailerLogic account is different from deleting an individual contact.
To delete an individual contact or process a data-erasure request, use the Contacts page. See Deleting & Exporting Contacts for more information.
To permanently close your MailerLogic account, follow the account deletion process described in this article.
For more information about data processing and compliance requirements, see Compliance: GDPR, CAN-SPAM and Consent.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I reopen a deleted account?
No. Deleted accounts and their data cannot be recovered. You can create a new account using the same email address, but it will be a new account without your previous data or history.
Will I automatically receive a refund when I close my account?
No. Closing your account does not automatically generate a refund. If you have an active subscription, cancel it through the billing portal first.
How long is my data retained after I close my account?
Your account data is deleted as part of the account-closure process. There is no retention window for closed accounts.
Can a team member delete the account?
No. Only the account owner can delete the account.
For information about team members and user permissions, see Teams & User Invitations.
What happens if I have a pending invoice?
Resolve any pending invoices before deleting your account. An open invoice cannot be paid through a deleted account and may still require payment.
Do I need to remove my DNS records?
It is recommended. After your MailerLogic account is deleted, SPF, DKIM, and CNAME records that point to MailerLogic are no longer needed. Removing them helps prevent confusion when managing your domain later.
