Manage Your MailerLogic Subscription, Billing, and Invoices
You can manage your MailerLogic subscription, billing cycle, sending volume, payment details, and invoices from the Billing page.
This article explains how to choose a plan, upgrade or downgrade your subscription, manage payment details, and cancel your plan.
Choose a Plan
MailerLogic plans are based on two factors:
Plan tier: Determines the features available to you.
Sending volume: Determines how many emails you can send each month.
You can choose between Monthly and Yearly billing. Annual billing is discounted compared with paying monthly for the same volume.
Step 1: Open Billing
Sign in to MailerLogic and open 'Billing' from your 'Profile'.
Step 2: Choose your Billing Cycle
Select 'Monthly' or 'Yearly' billing based on how you want to pay for your subscription.
Step 3: Set Sending Volume
Choose your required 'Sending Volume', review the plan and pricing.
Step 4: Start a Paid Subscription
If you're currently on the Free plan, select your billing cycle and sending volume, then click 'Upgrade'.
Complete the payment on the secure checkout page. Once payment is successful, return to MailerLogic.
Your new plan limits apply after the payment is completed. MailerLogic's payment provider handles your payment details, and MailerLogic does not see or store your card details.
Step 5: Upgrade Your Plan
If you already have a paid subscription, you can increase your sending volume or change your billing cycle from the Billing page.
Choose the new plan, review the payment preview, and confirm the change.
Your upgrade takes effect immediately after successful payment.
Upgrades are prorated, so you receive credit for the unused portion of your current plan and pay the difference for the remainder of your current billing period. The amount shown in the payment preview is the amount you will be charged.
Tip: The payment preview is time-sensitive. If you leave it open for a while, generate a new preview before completing the upgrade.
If payment fails or requires additional authorization, your previous plan and limits remain active until the upgrade payment is completed.
Step 6: Downgrade Your Plan
Downgrades work differently from upgrades. Your lower plan does not take effect immediately.
From Billing, choose the lower sending volume or billing cycle and confirm the change. The confirmation should show $0/£0 due today.
Your current plan remains active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. The lower plan starts at the next renewal.
Step 7: Manage Invoices and Payment Details
Open the 'Invoices' tab on the Billing page to view your billing history and receipts.
From the billing portal, you can update or replace your payment card, change your billing address and tax details, download previous invoices, and manage your subscription.
If you need a VAT or tax invoice, add your tax details in the billing portal. These details will appear on future invoices.
Step 8: Choose the Right Sending Volume
Choose your sending volume based on how many emails you expect to send, rather than simply the number of contacts in your account.
- For example, if you have 10,000 contacts and send to them twice a month, you would need approximately 20,000 sends per month.
Your sending allowance includes emails sent through campaigns, automations, transactional email, API, SMTP, and test emails.
Before choosing a plan, 'Check Usage' to understand your current sending volume.
If your volume is stable, yearly billing may be more cost-effective. If you're still testing or expect your volume to increase, a monthly plan gives you more flexibility to upgrade when needed.

Step 9: Cancel Your Subscription
If you no longer want to continue with a paid plan, you can cancel your subscription from the billing portal.
Open 'Billing', select the option to manage your subscription, and choose 'Cancel subscription'.
Your current plan remains active until the end of the period you've already paid for. After that period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan.
Before cancelling, export any data you may need. The Free plan has more restrictive limits and data-retention periods, so some data may no longer be available after your account moves to the Free plan.
Important: Cancelling your subscription is different from closing or deleting your MailerLogic account.
Troubleshoot Billing Issues
I paid, but my account still shows the Free plan
Payment confirmation may take a short time to update.
Refresh the Billing page. If your plan still hasn't updated after a few minutes, contact Support and provide your payment reference.
My upgrade says payment is required
Your card may require additional authorization, such as 3-D Secure, or the payment may have been declined.
Complete the payment using the invoice link or update your payment method in the billing portal. Your previous plan remains active while the upgrade is pending.
The upgrade price is different from the plan price
This is expected when upgrading during an active billing period.
The upgrade amount is prorated based on the time remaining in your current period. The amount shown in the payment preview is the authoritative amount you'll be charged.
I downgraded, but my limits haven't changed
This is expected. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current paid billing period.
My card was declined at renewal
Update your payment method in the billing portal. Sending may be restricted while an invoice remains unpaid.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. You can change your billing cycle from the Billing page.
Switching to annual billing is treated as an upgrade and takes effect immediately with proration. Switching to monthly billing is treated as a downgrade and takes effect at renewal.
Do unused emails roll over?
No. Your sending allowance resets at the beginning of each billing period.
What happens if I exceed my sending limit?
Sending pauses rather than automatically charging you for additional volume. You can upgrade your plan or wait for your allowance to reset.
Do I receive a refund when I downgrade?
No. Downgrades take effect at renewal rather than generating a refund. Upgrades automatically account for unused time through proration.
Can team members manage billing?
No. Billing and plan changes are restricted to the account owner.
Does the number of team members affect the price?
Team seats are included in your plan. Check the plan comparison to see how many seats are included with your plan.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your account remains available until the end of your paid period. After that, it reverts to the Free plan, which has more restrictive limits and data retention. Export anything you need before cancelling.
