Plans, Usage & Limits: Monitor Your MailerLogic Account

Published:

MailerLogic's Usage page gives you a central view of your plan limits, current usage, available features, and remaining capacity. Use it before planning a large campaign or automation to avoid unexpected limits and understand when you may need to upgrade your plan.

Step 1: Open Your Usage Page

Sign in to MailerLogic and open Usage.

The Usage page shows what your plan includes, how much you've used, and how much capacity remains. Check this page before scheduling a large campaign, importing contacts, or setting up high-volume automations.

The page is divided into sections covering sending, CRM, features, and API usage.

1

Step 2: Review Your Usage Overview

Start with Usage Overview to see your email usage for the current billing period.

This section shows how many emails you've sent compared with the allowance included in your plan.

Remember that your account can have both a daily and monthly sending limit, so a large monthly allowance does not necessarily mean you can send the entire allowance in one day.

2

Step 3: Check Your Sending Limits

MailerLogic uses two main sending limits:

Daily limit: The maximum number of emails you can send in a day.

Monthly limit: The maximum number of emails you can send during your billing period.

Your sending stops when you reach whichever limit applies first. If you need to send a large campaign that exceeds your daily limit, split it across multiple days.

Some plans may not have a monthly sending cap and are governed by the daily limit.

If you're a new customer and your available limit is lower than your plan allowance, check Email Warmup. New accounts may have temporary sending restrictions while your sending reputation is established.

3

Step 4: Review CRM Limits

Open CRM Limits to see how much contact data your plan allows you to store.

The section shows your current and remaining limits for Contacts, Segments, Tags, and Custom Properties.

If you're approaching your contact limit, review your database before upgrading. Removing unsubscribed, hard-bounced, and long-inactive contacts can free space while also helping maintain healthier engagement and deliverability.

4

Step 5: Check Feature Limits

Some MailerLogic features have their own usage limits.

These can include Email Validations, Content Scoring, Risk API Calls, Deliverability Tests, Tracking Domains, Dedicated IPs, Webhook Endpoints, and Data Retention.

Check the Usage page for the exact allowance available to your account because feature limits can vary by plan.

Data retention is particularly important if you need long-term reporting. Once data falls outside your retention period, it may no longer be available. Consider exporting important information or sending events to your own data system using webhooks.

Step 6: Review Your Plan Features

The Plan Features section shows which MailerLogic capabilities are included in your subscription.

Depending on your plan, these may include email validation, content scoring, risk assessment, deliverability testing, advanced analytics, health scores, custom tracking domains, custom SMTP hostnames, white labeling, dedicated IPs, IP warmup, bulk routes, event tracking APIs, tags, headers and metadata, and priority support.

If a feature appears unavailable in the MailerLogic interface, check this section to confirm whether it is included in your current plan.

5

Step 7: Understand Free Plan Restrictions

The Free plan is designed for testing and smaller projects and has fewer advanced capabilities.

Features such as Email Validation, Content Scoring, Risk API, SMTP Credentials, API Keys, Integrations, Tracking Domains, and Dedicated IPs are not available on the Free plan.

The Free plan also does not support additional team members and uses a shared IP pool.

You can still create and send campaigns and use supported forms and automations. However, connecting external systems requires a paid plan.

For exact Free plan limits, always check your Usage page because numerical limits can vary by deployment and configuration.

Step 8: Monitor API and Throughput Limits

Open Rate Limiting & Throughput to review the limits that apply to API activity.

This section can show your API request rate, maximum recipients per API call, and sending throughput.

If your application is making too many requests, reduce the request frequency, batch operations where appropriate, and use exponential backoff when the API returns rate-limit responses.

For implementation details, refer to the API Keys & MailerLogic API guide.

6

Step 9: Check Your Usage Before Large Sends

Before launching a large campaign or automation, review your available sending capacity.

Check both your daily and monthly usage and make sure the planned campaign fits within the remaining allowance.

If your account is still in warmup, use the current warmup limit rather than your normal plan allowance when calculating how much you can send.

Step 10: Take Action When You Approach a Limit

If you're approaching your sending limit, consider splitting the campaign across multiple days, narrowing the audience to your most engaged contacts, or upgrading your plan.

If you're approaching your contact limit, clean your database first by removing contacts that are unsubscribed, bounced, or no longer active.

If you're approaching a feature limit, check when the allowance resets with your billing period or consider upgrading if you need additional capacity immediately.

If you're approaching an API rate limit, reduce request frequency, batch API calls, use caching where appropriate, and implement retry delays.

Step 11: Understand Limit Resets

Daily sending limits reset each day.

Monthly sending limits and metered features reset according to your billing period, rather than automatically resetting on the first day of every calendar month.

Check your account's billing information to understand when your current billing period ends and the applicable limits reset.

Step 12: Upgrade Your Plan When Needed

If your current plan no longer provides enough sending volume, contacts, features, or API capacity, review the available plans and upgrade from Billing.

Plan-based volume is tied to your subscription tier, so increasing your available capacity generally requires moving to a plan with higher limits.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I reach my sending limit during a campaign?

Sending pauses when the applicable limit is reached. Remaining recipients aren't sent until the limit becomes available again. Check the campaign status and your Usage page for the current limit.

Do bounces count toward my sending limit?

Yes. Attempted sends count toward your sending allowance. Validating your contact list before sending can help prevent your allowance from being used on invalid addresses.

Do test emails count toward my limit?

Yes. Test emails are real sends and count toward your account's applicable sending allowance.

Do API and SMTP emails use the same sending limit?

Yes. Campaign, automation, transactional, API, and SMTP sending all draw from the applicable account sending allowance.

Why is my sending limit lower than my plan limit?

Your account may be in Email Warmup. Open the Email Warmup page to see your current temporary limit and remaining warmup period.

Can I purchase additional sending volume without changing my plan?

Sending volume is tied to your plan tier. Check Billing for available plan upgrades and changes.

Why do my usage numbers look incorrect?

Usage reporting can take a few minutes to update. If the figures still appear incorrect after waiting, contact MailerLogic Support with the relevant campaign details and the values you expected.
